Boarding House

Objective

A space to rest during daytime hours for boys who work at night (sex workers, beggars...) and who are not ready to join "traditional" centers. Boys receive education on how to protect themselves from risk and are supported to seek alternatives to street life.

Activities

The Boarding House is a “hotel” for boys over the age of 14 years who work on the streets at night (guarding cars, working in the markets, scavenging, sex work…). As they are working, they want to participate to the center’s life and pay a small fee for meals and place to sleep.

Afternoon activities are proposed such as literacy, sports, HIV/AIDS awareness, substance misuse awareness, counseling...
Free medical care is administered daily by the Mith Samlanh / Friends doctor.

Children receive individual follow-up through case management and through life plan exercises are able to identify options and access alternatives to street life.
