Safe Migrants Program
The Safe Migration team directly works in Phnom Penh and in Kampong Cham.
In Phnom Penh since 2003
Objective
To provide information about safe migration, trafficking, sexual exploitation to young migrants (especially girls) who have arrived in Phnom Penh, as well as supporting them for reintegration (families, schooling, vocational training, employment…).

Activities
Outreach activities at traditional arrival points(taxi, bus station…) in Phnom Penh and in the communities in collaboration with Government officers, local authorities and a network of agents trained by the team, reinforces early identification and support of young people coming to the streets and at risk of trafficking.
Counseling, information (migration, trafficking and life skills) and/ or short term shelter is provided while supporting the young migrants to be oriented and to define their objectives as well as helping them to achieve these objectives.
Build and train safe migration networks with local authorities, sellers, motodups and NGO partners in Phnom Penh and in the provinces to assist young people and their families in making informed decisions.
In Kampong Cham since 2005
Objective
To provide information on migration and trafficking to young people at risk in Kampong Cham and other provinces, allowing them to make informed decisions and then supporting them if they wish to migrate or helping them to find alternatives in their provinces.

Activities
Working in 5 high districts where there are high rates of migration, to provide information on the risks and dangers involved (trafficking, sexual exploitation and employment exploitation).
Supporting young people at risk and their families to find sustainable solutions within their provinces through business support, training, education and follow up.
Build and train safe migration networks with local authorities, sellers, motodups and NGO partners in Kampong Cham to assist the team in identify young people and families at risk.
